Welcome to our web site!  We are Dale and Rachael Nelson and we opened An Ocean Bay Bed and Breakfast in early 2007.  Having purchased a house and apartment with an incredible view in the fall of 2006, we decided it would be an ideal location for accommodating visitors to Kodiak. 

Dale has lived in Kodiak since 1987 and is a public school teacher and avid outdoorsman.  His frequent activities include fishing, hunting, running, hiking, and snowboarding in the backcountry. 

I (Rachael) have lived on the island for 17 years and maintain a passion for the outdoors as well.  My outdoor pursuits include running, fishing, hiking, tidepooling, mountain biking, bird watching and scuba diving. 

Dale and I love living on this incredible island and welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge of local activities with you.  Whether you want a day of sport fishing on a pristine river on the road system, enjoy perusing museums, or want to go on a spectacular mountain hike, we can send you off in the right direction.  Our view of the mountains and ocean is truly breathtaking and we want you to enjoy it too!
